Work at progress

The asphalt needed for road surface building and repairing we produce in 3 owned factories:

    - Zvāre asphalt factory;
    - Iecava asphalt factory;
    - Mobile asphalt factory.

Zvāre factory was built in 1972, however it has been constantly updated and modernized. At present here is already a small 4th generation “Teltomat” machinery that reaches the capacity of 130 t per hour.

In Iecava there has been set up a “AMMANN SB/210” bituminous concrete factory producing up to 210 t per hour.

In Liepaja there has been set up a „AMMANN Black Move” mobile asphalt factory producing up to 165 t per hour.

Both factories produce any type of bituminous concrete required in Latvia.

The abbreviation for bituminous concrete is AC or ACb, for flinder – mastika asphalt – SMA, for emulsion asphalt EA or EAb, which is followed by respective mixture mineral material largest particle (D) size in millimeters (mm).

Usage

AC – 4, AC – 6, AC – 8

For pavements, pit repairs, evening-out layers

AC – 8, AC – 11, AC - 16

For road and square surfaces (wearing course)

ACb – 16, ACb – 22, ACb – 32

For road and square lower layers (substrata) and cohesion layers

SMA – 8, SMA – 11,
SMA - 16

For motorways with high traffic intensity, with high spiked tyre proportion and for crossings

EA – 8, EA – 11,EA – 16

For low intensity motorways and those that require increased cover elasticity for surfaces (wearing course)

EAb – 16, EAb – 22

For low intensity motorways and those that require increased cover elasticity for lower layers (substrata)

Advised minimal layer density (mm):

On the application and layer density of the mixture of bituminious concrete (with dolomite, granite or other magmatic rock flinders) an agreement in each case separately has to be reached taking into account specific conditions (traffic intensity, the ground on what the concrete cover will be laid, etc.).
